Immature Stages of Nymphidae

Detailed information on immature stages of Nymphidae is being acquired.  However, Clausen (1940) noted that Nymphus myrmeleonides Leach, was a well-known member of the family found in Australia and certain South Pacific islands.  The larvae occur under rubbish, each covered so that only the front of the head and the mandibles are exposed.  They are thought to prey on wood ants, which are common in their habitat.  A spherical, parchment-like cocoon is formed.
